Yes, Cocoon Health is completely free for all users - health professional and non-health professional alike. There are no catches and no small print. We can afford to give the service away for free by offering a paid-for premium service to health professionals who would like greater exposure on the network. See Premium Cocoon for details.

Yes, absolutely. If, for whatever reason, you would like to close your Cocoon profile, you will be able to do so in just a few clicks.

We are committed to providing not only a brilliant user experience online but also the highest level of offline support should you run into difficulty using the site. Use the form on the Contact Us page to get in touch. Or, alternatively, skype us at cocoonhealth. We will make every effort to respond to you within 24 hours.

If you are a health professional, everyone will be able to see your Cocoon. If you are a not a health professional, only people who you connect to will have permission to see your Cocoon.

You can connect to anyone you know. If you want to connect to someone but they don't yet have a Cocoon we would encourage you to introduce them to the service. When you make a connection we ask you to define your relationship to that person. They may be a family member, friend, acquaintance, health professional or even a patient. Typically a health professional will want to connect to his or her clients whilst non-health professionals will want to connect with loved-ones. Remember though, this isn't a rule, you may connect to whoever you want.

By making connections you are maximising the health benefits of your Cocoon. Connections are the key to learning from the recommendations and experiences of others and to keeping in touch with the health professionals that look after your wellbeing.

By default all connections are made visible to other users. However, when you make a connection we will ask you whether you would like to make the connection private. A private connection is not visible to anyone else. We recommend that you use this type of connection when you connect to a professional that is treating you for any condition that you would like to keep secret.

Every health professional Cocoon has a tab called feedback. It allows clients to give health professionals their feedback about health treatments and services. Clients use feedback to explain what is most important to them. In turn, professionals learn how to improve the level of care they provide.

The feedback system allows you to make your feedback publicly, privately or, alternatively, you can make it visible to only a few of your connections. For example, if you want to give your health professional some feedback but only want him/her to be able to read it, then just define the feedback as 'private'. If you want your feedback to be visible to everyone just leave the visibility setting as 'everyone'. Lastly, if you want to make it visible to only your closest friends and family then simply select this option. Our visibility settings are designed to be intuitive and easy to use.

You can also make recommendations of health professionals that you trust and respect. Anyone, regardless of whether they are are a health professional or not, can make a recommendation. The beauty of the system is that you can discover who the best professionals are by reading the recommendations your connections have written.

The same visibility settings for the feedback system apply to the recommendation system. You can choose exactly who you would like to be able to see each recommendation.

We would like you to feel free to use the forum in whatever way you like, but please do not use it for advertising purposes - that's just annoying for everyone and will be treated as spam.

We use our blog to keep you up to date on product developments and any new features we've added to Cocoon Health. It's also an opportunity for you to get to know us a bit better. We write about our experiences at Cocoon Health and anything we feel might be of interest to you. We also use the blog to teach professionals clever ways they can use the internet to market themselves.

The FanQ page is our small way of saying thank you to the people who have helped us most at Cocoon Health.

Simply click on the search button in the horizontal navigation menu at the top of each page. This will take you to the search page. There you can select what type of search you would like to carry out. There are a number of different ways to search for health professionals. You could choose only to search for professionals who speak a certain language or for those that have received recommendations. You can also search for professionals and fellow users by name.
